(SOLVED) Western Bull Moose
Does anyone have an idea where to find it? I've read or seen about every guide, I've looked in Colter + Cairn Lake, in Ambarino (above the letters I and N), around Annesburg, in Tall Trees and around Dakota River, but couldn't find it anywhere. I've also tried sleeping, reloading and baits, but nothing worked at all.

There's a lake that's west of Blackwater called "Aurora Basin" That's where we found our first Bull moose.

I saw one at the lake in the northern, middle part of the map towards the top, but I've only ever seen the one. They seem pretty rare.

I think I've tried that too, actually. But still, thanks for the reply and I'll try it once more :)
EDIT: Oh, maybe I've confused it with O'Creagh's Run, I don't even remember all the locations I've tried.

"Rare" is not even the word, they're almost non-existent. Didn't see any at O'Creagh's Run, if that's what you mean. But thank you :)

No, looking at the map now, it was the lake by Calumet Ravine. It's near the very edge of the map. Either way, if you're specifically looking for one, you're pretty clearly going to need some good luck.

I thought you might mean that, though it seemed unlikely, since no one recommended that location before. But then, who knows? What particular location was it? Or cardinal direction from the lake?

I just saw one last night, in the woods between
Lake of Aurora Basin and Upper Montana River,

Just curious, why you looking for it? for any request?

IIRC, it was on the west side of the lake, drinking. Looking online, it doesn't seem to be pegged as one of the typical spots, but I don't know how much variation there is, and with how rare they seem to be, it's not like it would be hard for online wikis and guides to not be terribly accurate about where they can be found (at least in that they're more likely to be missing spots, not that the spots that they list are necessarily wrong). e.g. this page - https://reddead.fandom.com/wiki/Moose?file=Moose_habitats_-_Red_Dead_2.png - doesn't list either Aurora Basin or Calumet Ravine as spots where they show up, and yet those are two spots that people in this thread have seen them.

Edit: Actually it does list Aurora Basin. I was mistaking Owanjila Dam for Aurora Basin, but it doesn't list Owanjila Dam as one of the possible spots, whereas other stuff I've read online lists it.

If it were me looking for moose, I'd look at lakes in the northern portion of the map, but it's probably going to take a lot of luck to find one - and/or a lot of looking.

Thanks, I'm just around Aurora Basin, so I will try that :) I haven't found the "Bull" variant yet, but I did find the standard one, which I studied before but didn't skin. So now all that's left is to study and skin the special one. It should be the last animal I need for both "Zoologist" and "Skin Deep" achievements.

Okay, I was heading to east from the lake at night,
through the pathway in north-east of the lake.
and I saw a huge shadow in the dark woods...it stood there silently, kind of scary.
So, it's big, if it's there you should spot it easily,
and I'm not sure but maybe you should try to seeking it at night time, too. GOOD LUCK~

I saw one swimming in the lake at Calumet Ravine, and another one in the woods close by near the geysers in Cottora Springs.

Well that's interesting, I think only one person suggested to look for it around noon, everyone else claimed that morning is better. But maybe I'd have some luck at night too.

Thanks :) I'm still around Aurora Basin, will try to reload it a couple of times. Then I'll try Calumet Ravine, then Cottora Springs.

OK, tried all the locations you recommended and all the other ones I found on the internet, but the moose is nowhere to be found. I'm trying for at least 5 hours and still nothing.. Would be so much better (but still not ideal) if this game just relied on grinding. That way you would at least know that you'll make any real progress after those 5 hours. They shouldn't have even put the moose along with the Rio Grande wild turkey in the game, or they should've made it more common, or at least it shouldn't have been required for the achievements. Did they just want to stretch the playtime this way, or what was their point? Even so, there would be many better ways to do it. Like, even those pigeons in GTA IV were so annoying, but at least it was doable.

I'm having the same predicament... :( trying to find a bull moose for hours to get those damn antlers for the last camp upgrade as Arthur ( i'm near the end too ) I've been mostly everywhere.. minus Blackwater's surroundings because you just get terminated on sight by the bounty hunters. tried every method, reloading saves, potent herbivore bait + a perimeter of smaller baits. I even tried evading the bounty hunters for a time, only to find the same damn elk running around the place. Nothing seems to spawn the male moose, the female one shows up from time to time. Did they F something up with the latest patches? I've seen people's videos from 2018 having many more bull moose encounters, near Annesburg and other places. Think I've visited all locations where other people spotted them.. only to be met by elk elk and more elk.... this is depressing

I saw those in RDO by the way, not story mode, if that makes a difference.
