Report a translation problem
Many houses still have old copper cables in them. Even if there's all the fancy fibreglass outside, as soon as the cable connects to the copper in the house, everything slows to a crawl.
At least that's the case for me. Can't get any higher than 5MB/s here.
If you're paying for higher speeds and not getting them (usually +- 10%), i'd recommend talking with your provider. Though you're mentioning 5MB/s, on your bill it's usually shown in "mb/s" so i'd assume you're paying for 40-50 mb net.
You probably have faster internet than my rural 3 mbps speed, but I've found the tactic I used works for pretty much everything over 10GB, I do it for most games.
Y'know, some areas we can ONLY get up to 3 mbps internet. Where I live, only one ISP serves it, and they won't lay down better infrastructure for higher speeds. They charge 80$ for 3 mbps, but it's either that or slower satellite internet.
