i lost my save game. is it still on my hard drive?
my pc crashed with a wierd hardware error i have and the game started from scratch. i have lots of rdr 2 files in my documents. is it possible to get back to my old save gamr?

The only place that they're going to be on your drive is the same place that the game is looking for them, so if the game can't find them, odds are that they're gone or corrupt.

The save files should be in your documents folder /Rockstar Games/Red Dead Redemption 2/Profiles/some random ID/. The save files start with SRDR, and they all seem to have a corresponding .bak file for some reason even though they appear to be identical to their .bak files. In any case, if those files aren't there, and you're not using cloud saves, then you're probably screwed. If they _are_ there, then maybe the situation can be fixed, maybe not, but given that the game doesn't see them, I don't know how fixable the situation is.

i have 2 srdr files with same name, one is bak and one is just a file. they are the same size. maybe if i renames the other one, i will try that now

i took off cloud saves incase it helped with the crashes

yeah, but what do i do with those files? i have SRDR and such yet my progress on story mode is still ♥♥♥♥♥♥. i had 2+ months of progress too.
