PS4 controller not working (Solved)
It was when I played last week, it isn't working when I tried now. I'm getting Xbox prompts (had PS prompts before), a notification when I unplug the controller, but when I'm plugged in there is no response. Anyone else have this issue? Tried big picture mode and it still didn't recognize controller, tried starting the game without controller plugged in then plugging in at menu with no luck. Controller lights up like it's working fine.

I'd prefer not having to use DS4windows.

you may need to re-install your SMbus driver. the one that comes with DS4 windows. You dont have to use DS4 windows anymore outside of doing that, unless you need to hide the DS4 option for whatever reason. Hope this helps.

I just did that to get DS4windows working, I'll see if the controller works now without the program.

Nope. still not recognized without ds4windows active. I wonder why this is going on, I haven't changed any settings since I last played. Haven't even unplugged the controller in between then and today.

Fixed it. Steam - Settings - Controller - General Controller Settings - UNCHECK Playstation Configuration Support. Idk why having PS controller support enabled actually disabled it, guess that should just be another thing added to RDR2's bigass list of problems.

If I plug in my PS4 controller it works but if I try to use it with bluetooth the controller wont work without PS controller support on which switches it back to xbox prompts...this is so frustrating.
