GFX ERROR possible fix?
I played storymode and i got this error (online worked fine). And there is pretty easy and simple fix for it :D Just go to settings -> graphics -> scroll down until you see Graphics API and there is DirectX and Vulkan and if you dont have Vulkan and only DirectX that is making that error. Worked on me when i just put that back to directx. I hope this worked :)

It doesn't work for me. I don't know why or what I'm doing wrong. The Error message comes again and again.

Did u reinstall x84 and x 64?
From what I understand, the game tries to cache some of the graphical shaders to avoid issues like popping textures etc, and many factors can mess those caches up, for example, updating your drivers etc. Hence changing API or deleting sga files fixing issues as the caches are API based.

If like me, you've tried everything else on these forums to fix the random crashing and nothing works, you should give this a try..

Here's what fixed both the stuttering and random crashing on my version. I'm playing the game on the Vulkan API.

1.) Install Rivatuner Statistics Server.

https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/rtss-rivatuner-statistics-server-download.html

Here's a screenshot that shows all of RTSS's settings for RDR2 on my setup.

2.) Limit the frame rate on rdr2.exe to your monitor's refresh rate.
3.) Switch the in-game display mode to borderless windowed.

At this point, the stuttering should be fixed, now onto the crashing..

Here's a thread in which the OP verifies that it works.

https://steamcommunity.com/app/1174180/discussions/0/1735507550901679052/

4.) Disable cloud saving for RDR2 in the Rockstar Launcher.
5.) Disable both the in-game vsync and triple buffering options.

For me at least, the in-game vsync option was also causing problems & crashes.

6.) Now enable both triple buffering and vsync through the NVIDIA Control Panel.
7.) Go to your 'Settings' folder and delete everything except for the 'system.xml' file.

Deleting those files is completely safe, I've done it multiple times myself.

And that's it, if you're still getting a crash after following these steps, just redo step 7 and restart the game.

I'd love to hear any feedback on this..

Had this error today for the first time, I had made a few manual saves before I got the error so I loaded up an auto save from before the manual one and since doing so I've not had the issue again, sleep saves and exit auto saves seem to work fine.
