I think the guy you chase bumps in to you in a store and picks your pocket. In SP anyway.

The guy he is probably talking about lures you in to an alley and then his friend knocks you out in an ambush.

any time a npc fs with you assuming your trying to be the good guy, just leave it, or sure as hell do not beat the guy or accidenly have your guy draw his handgun and blow the guys brains out or something. which happend a ton when you think your having a fight and suddenly your blasting the guys head off.

if you being the bad guy and do not give a toss, then just shoot em dead and deal with the bounty and cops trying to kill you. cut to the chase.

Yes you can get your money back, although the robbers might not be in the same spot, but definitely will remain in saint-denis, I found them near china-town myself.

Yup, Just happened to me, I went back to the Ally and they were there, Beat one up, Hog tied the other, got my Money back that they stole $1300 + $10 profit. The hog tied guy i took to the swamp and fed him to a croc :D

When your robbed by the kids in the alley chase after them .. .they will lead you to what you are suppose to see .. if you get taken going into the Tailor chase after him and rob him back to get more than he stole from you ...
