Either way, you're stuck using Vulkan for Windows 7. Windows 7 hits end of life on the 14th of this month, at which point, Microsoft will no longer be supporting Windows 7 (save for some exceptions where companies shell out money for additional support). So, there's no way that they're going to add add DirectX 12 support to Windows 7, which is what you'd need to play RDR2 with DirectX 12 on Windows 7. And since Microsoft wants everyone to move to Windows 10, it's highly unlikely that they'll add it to Windows 8 either. If you want DirectX 12, you need to move to Windows 10, which for better or worse, is probably what you should be doing anyway, since Windows 7 will now increasingly become a security problem, since Microsoft won't be providing security updates any longer, as annoying as that may be.
Microsoft ends the Support for Windows 7 January 14. So its very unlikely that it will get mentionable Updates
How to get Windows 10 still for free
https://www.cnet.com/how-to/upgrade-to-windows-10-free-heres-how/
It's free. It always has been. It always will be. To the legit.
Anyways, the microsoft app store has an upgrade tool that works just fine, but you will need a reg key for your copy of win 7. They moved it from accesability upgrade on their website to the app store as part of a windows tools app, I am assuming to get more people on board with windows "apps" since they are still doing this for free.
Like I said, I just did this for a friend's computer 2 days ago and it worked just fine and is 100% legit.
Microsoft said that offer would expire but it still works perfectly. Like the person above said they upgraded a friend to 10 using a 7 key 2 days ago. My cousin upgraded from 7 to 10 using his 7 product key a few months ago. Activated perfectly fine. I think Microsoft dose not care as it gets more people on 10 and they make a TINY amount of money from people actually buying standalone copies of Windows or just the product keys. That is a tiny market, it's the OEM's buying Windows liscenses where they make their money on Windows from the consumer market.
false. dx12 is worse. Vulkan is always better. Where you heard that dx is better ?
