I can't play the single player but can launch the online
So single player is a no go but online works. I have no interest in the online game. I am many hours in and this sucks. I tried all the solutions offered but they do not work. My computer runs every other game that's on it. The problem is not on my end but you can't seem to contact anyone at Rockstar support.

As in infinite loading screens for SP? If so, got that for online a few days ago, couldn't change my character.

You have it on an SSD or HDD? Former would do better. Offer no real solutions, the other day the game had trouble launching on Steam, crap about not owning the game and cloud saves not working.

If I try to load a save file from online then I get infinite load screen. If I try from story mode then the game crashes just as the screen changes from load screen to being able to play. I looked and they seem to have made an update today. I would put money down on that being the culprit.

There was no update.

I looked on their site and it says there's a new content update.

Run the benchmark, you only have to let load the snow scene, then exit benchmark and start single player!

Switch to DX12, and start the game from steam(go straight to online), it works for me

No thanks John, I haven't played online since Borderlands 2, there was just too much stupid and hackers, soured me on multiplayer.

Bit of a late follow up, but my fox for it is. Load online, pause and select story and select either resume story or new game. Worked for me
