Alrighty thanks
Use the Misc collectors map, then she should appear on your map from now on.
Always displays the locations of the collectibles from the current cycle, as well as Madam Nazar's locations.
Pretty much makes the Collector the easiest, least risk way to make money.
how long is that guy gonna keep finding madam nazar for us tho lol
Selling sets makes you more money, but it makes some sense to sell some individually if you get a lot of one or two items from a set, since the max you can carry of any collectible is 10. However, even if you don't want to use the online map to find all of the collectibles, I don't see much point in using collector maps to find most collectibles. You get quite a few just wandering around, using eagle eye, as well as from looting bodies. The problem is getting the last item(s) in the set, since it seems like every set has one or two items in it which are quite rare (such that it's really easy to end up with multiple, almost complete sets of the same type without actually completing any). And buying maps doesn't seem to help much from what I've seen, since it seems to pick 3 random collectible locations (usually nearish to you) rather than preferring to show collectibles that you're missing.
I've avoided using the online map thus far, but I suspect that I'm ultimately going to be forced to use it if I want to actually complete many sets. I have a ton of collectibles even without using much in the way of maps, but I've only completed a couple of collections thus far - and one of those was the weekly collection that included a season, plump bird, which is obviously pretty trivial to get. The main reason that I've been using any maps lately has simply been when a daily challenge includes x of a particular type of collectible (usually 3) or when there's a daily challenge for using x collector maps. Otherwise, I haven't been bothering.
Also, I almost never use fast traveling. I either go there directly on my horse (possibly hunting along the way), or I move my camp to near the location, quit the game, start the game again, and then start online in my camp. It still costs $1 or $2 depending on the location, but it's much cheaptr than most fast traveling.
I won't be able to use that camp method. I'm not sure whats causing it, but I read on the nazar page that loading into camp causes GTA loading times. I thought it was funny at first until I tried it myself later on (today) Sat there for like 15 minutes until I realized I made it half way through an episode of Fire Force and had to close the application
As for the maps thing, I realized earlier that the reason why im burning through my money on the maps is probably cause I buy them all at once, and then complete them before going back to Nazar to re-up. all together thats like 100 give or take, only to get 3 random items to a given set (usually duplicates) so far I only completed 2 sets a few hours ago (just got my metal detector) so my money is making a recovery, but I feel like I should be completing a map and returning for the same category until I get a set and that might help pay for it.
BUT
I also think I want to take maps fully out of the equation.
I found that map link earlier today and saved it to my tabs but I haven't looked at it yet. So does it show the exact location of a SPECIFIC item? Meaning I can just complete sets by cherry picking them? if so then I may cut out maps entirely and rely on this instead. Im on my pc now so I wont be playing rdr2 anymore today, but Im going to look at that link
It shows each and every location in real time.
There's 6 cycles that have different collectibles available at any given time.
Some collectibles are rarer in certain cycles, some only appear in a certain one.
There's also at least one of the flowers that only appears at night from 10pm to 5am.
Collectibles also has icons if they have a special location (shovel icon for digging up a visible dirt mound, magnet icon for using the metal detector, then digging).
You also get a short description if a collectible isn't obvious to spot, as the orange sparkles in eagle eye are not always visible, and the chimes sound isn't always audible, e.g. a collectible hidden in a chimney, recovered by searching with the R button.
Recently they also added minimap overlays for caves and mines.
And of course, the current location of Madam Nazar is marked as well.
But since each location is still fixed, money making with the collector role is pretty straightforward, fast and the most risk free.
I wouldn't be surprised if R☆ completely randomize the system at some point...
