Difficulty Balancing issues
There's a difficulty balancing issue with the game. There should be different difficulty options with the game. It's either extremely easy or extremely hard in shoot outs. Secondly, being stocked up on cheese wedges in order to survive being ocassionally jumped by the O'Driscolls isn't enough.

One man against 6-8 is too much, especially out in the open range, where engaging them means having to get off your horse first, finding cover, and hoping the others won't out flank you right after you kill two of them. I appreciate the fact that the AI is pretty smart but 6-8 of these guys will ensure your swift defeat. And deadeye is only good so long as you can see your enemies and most of them won't be in range for you target them in the small time window you have.

Especially when you can't heal swiftly because when you bring up the item wheel, the game is still playing. What I'd like to see is an option where you can kill enemies with just 1-2 bullets. I don't know why it would take 4-5 bullets sometime to kill an enemy. And that only applies to getting jumped in open range.

In the missions, like in the Micah mission where you bust him out of jail, you kill enemies in 1-2 bullets. It doesn't even matter where you hit them. In open range, it takes 4-5 bullets to kill an O'Driscoll. There's no armor in the game. I don't see why this is a thing. And sometimes the targeting button works and sometimes it doesn't.

The weapon range is important. When using a revolver on long range for example, you'll need a ton of body-hits to kill someone. I mostly used the normal rifles, like bolt-action or the springfield without using the scope in shootouts and aimed for head or chest. That's mostly a one-hit kill on any range. Also Dead-Eye is immensely useful and I use it for pretty much every shot, when I'm not in cover. Stack up on alcohol and cigars, especially Gin and the Bourbon are useful, because it doesn't give you any negative effects. Also, when shooting in Dead-Eye, it doesn't drain your Dead-Eye bar, only the marking does, so mark a couple or even just one shot and shoot as soon as possible.

I hit a O'Driscoll in the head with a rifle shot and it only knocked him over and he got back and kept shooting. Then bullets were whizzing by all over the place. next thing I know, I was dead.

Unfortunately, the game doesn't save just before your O'Driscoll encounters because I think if I had one more chance I'd be able to beat them.
