Word of Warning for Epic store purchasers

I just spent FOUR HOURS trying to convince the Epic Store that I had a valid key for Red Dead 2, immediately after I tried to redeem a gift of it from yesterday. A gift FROM THE EPIC STORE!

They wouldn't believe my purchase until I exited and restarted my Steam account, for some f-ed up reason. [Epic is selling Steam keys?!? WTF does my Steam account have to do with an Epic game?!]]
Their customer service is even more phantom-like than Valve's... No real humans, until you talk about refunds...then they snap to attention.

Screw Epic and their wonky store, and please someone from Steam investigate these shenanigans. I prefer to buy games and then play them. Not buy, then wait a few hours for download, then wait for verification...then wait for... You get me.
Long story short? Screw Epic's store.

Edit: Can't play anyway, as Rockstar's craptacular install says I have a "violation." Nearly nine freakin' hours and I STILL can't play this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game. Points finger of shame at SONY. Screw them and screw this game. Obviously meant for console kiddies but not for sale to adults who like Westerns...

I have to admit that Epic games does ♥♥♥♥. They do have good deals and stuff but they lack features such as steam does. They need to work and improve in that department. No cart to remove or click a refund option like valve does. I think Epic Games need to really expand their project as a digital download company. They have a lot to learn. I got fed up with the download speeds. I suppose I will deal with Steam for now. I still like EPIC GAMES coupon deals but it isn't fair to the customers to download slow data when they already have good speed they pay for. I think they need to get better servers. I have no clue if Epic Games have good standing with having good equipment. I have no clue if they have any good servers too. No clue why they are slow to download for everyone.

Considering how much they charge to use their service they will never have those features becuase it will be unprofitable.

lol... "Epic Store is bad". sure thing. it is a brand new platform that already has massive ground with free game giveaways, great exclusives and hard work from a dedicated team. the features are being added constantly and the platform is very workable.

i can understand being frustrated with a gift not working. your complaint is a bit difficult to understand, though. so it was an Epic Store gift? as far as i know you cannot gift games on the Epic Store... meaning you were gifted a CD Key. where did the CD Key come from? was it a third party site? why was Epic interested in Steam at all, possibly the Key was to be redeemed on Steam or R* launcher directly?

the things you are complaining about are a frustration, i'm just having difficulty piecing together how it all works. my guess is your CD Key was purchased from a sketchy third party site at a massively discounted rate and the person selling the keys used a canceled card or charge-back on all key purchases; hence your R* violation and Epic not understanding where the key came from or whether it is valid.

How lame, they already abandon their road map time line. I expect they will never have those features because it will be too expensive on top of the things they do.

Epic isn't even selling Steam Keys for RDR2, it was like this person basically typed "Epic is bad, cuz..." and then wrote a bunch of random words.

OP is being delusional or stupid. I tried to find third party that sells steam key and epic key for this game but couldn't find any but one site that sells steam key which might seem legit but also could be just steam gift version. The only key that I found is for Rockstar launcher. Its pretty common for games with their own store to not distribute keys to third party for other platforms.

OP need to learn how to use computer in general and stop getting keys from fraud seller.
