Graphics menu lag

I just installed the game. but whenever i jump into the graphics menu my fps drops to a staggering 1 fps and stays that way... Someone please help. i play it on an acer preator helios 300 with a gtx 1060. i was able to run a few benchmarks earlier which gave average 30 fps on med-high. but now all of a sudden this keeps happening.

if your helios has the 9300H processor you don't have enough threads for this game. Shocking for a $1500 mini system but true. Need a desktop for this really.
