Single Player Corrupt Save Fix?

Anyone found a fix for save file corruption?

The symptom is that the save loads but the screen is heavily blurred and flickering. Sound is playing.

The only solution I've found is to force-close the game through the task manager, delete the most recent save file in the documents folder and load an older save. Loading a non-corrupt save works fine.

Normally not a huge deal, but I had five saves in a row that wouldn't load. Almost lost all saves and would have had to start over.

This has happened to me twice already. It's a joke how many saves I have to keep around for backup because of their inept programming. This game is an absolute mess.

Thanks for posting I have been deliberating whether top buy this or not. You guys have made it easy. Definitely a not for me. I will wait a year or 5 when it is a fiver :)

I don't know if this is the same kind of issue, I had a save problem after a rage-quit. Upon loading Story, I'd hear the environment sounds, but with dark screen and shortly after the game crashed to desktop.
I loaded a benchmark from Graphics settings, and afterwards the Story could also load without problems.
