How to catch Longnose Gar without swamp bait?

im level is too lowl to buy swamp bait, im trying to do daily challenge to continue my streak so is there a way to catch longnose?

Just use worms, give the line flick and you should be right. Be mindful if there are other fish about they're more likely to take it faster than the Gar.

You can actually chase fish out of the water on foot and just pick them up from the ground. In story mode I did that a couple of times and it counted towards one of the fishing challenges so it might work for online dailies too. Not sure if you can find the real big ones in waist high water though.

if you can see the fish (use your eagle vision) just dynamite and scoop them up , see if it gives you the challenge.. also, if you can find a way to jump in near it, you can actually pick up fish whether they are alive or dead, got me a bunch of carp that way. so if you can beach them, or catch them, withoiut the pole. depends on whether or not the pole is required to count as catch, but usually it is just obtaining the fish some how
