While in game just go to the social club, and in the third choice (in setting, on the wheel next to your name) on the left you can choose to activate or deactivate cloud.
I'm trying to deactivate the cloud save but the social club always put it enabled when i relaunch the game...
If it doesn't, can you download the launcher from the social club or is there an option to run the RS launcher through steam?
When you're ingame, just open the rocktar social club overlay, then click next to your name (the wheel), settings, there will be option on the left, go in the 3rd one you will find the place to activate or deactivate the cloud save.
Delete the cloudsavedata.dat file and launch the game, it will ask you again if you want to enable cloud saves or not.
This worked thank you! I'd forgotten that there is a shortcut key to bring up the main menu for the in game launcher.
I understand they have the launcher to prevent piracy. But why do they insist on having it running in the background. Once the game is launched it should exit. I don't use any of the features of it so it's completely useless to me. And why do they force cloud saves on? I hate them. I prefer to have my local saves and backup them up. Cloud saves overwrite your local saves which can screw up your progress. Completely ridiculous.
There was always a launcher running in the background.
Only now it has a visible window and a store feature.
As long as it autimatically closes down when I exit the game, I couldn't care less.
