Help With Billy Midnight/Gunslinger Stuff

Not sure what I'm doing wrong here but I had the same problem with the last gunslinger I had to deal with. I still don't know how I got past that.

I'm using an Xbox controller, which works fine for me overall. I just don't understand what I'm supposed to do to win the gunfight. The game says to slowly pull the Right Trigger to give yourself more time to aim. I'm doing that, sure. Then what? Before I can fire, Billy gets his gun out and I'm down. I don't want to skip the moment; I'd like to figure it out if anyone would be willing to help explain it to me a bit better than the game is.

As I understood this duels, when it activated, you need to hold your fire button (left mouse or whatever your button on controller), then wait for meter to fill, when it reach maximum gunslinger slo-mo activates automatically and then you need to shoot the guy faster then he shoots you.
This guy Billy is fast tho, took me like 5-7 tries only because I wanted to disarm him, not kill. Waste of time btw, because if u disarm him he'll pull out second gun and shoot himself.
So go for the kill immediately, maybe try do this with the mouse. On the mouse btw you need just hold the button, cause you can't slowly press it. Maybe this is the problem, try just hold it.

Thanks, Ivan. I did finally manage to get this done, and yeah while I did disarm him, he did kill himself, much to my disappointment. Still, the lack of instruction in-game was frustrating me. At least it's done.

An advice I can give you is don't try to headshot the guy. For some reason I thought it was mandatory at first, hence why I needed a few tries before finally winning. Got a lot easier when I stopped going for the head. Body shot, leg shot, any shot counts. Just hold down slowly as long as you can and then shoot him anywhere.

Thank yo, this one was really frustrating me, I've managed the others with a PS5 controller after a few go's but this guy... the mouse did it, cheers
