cannot remove map marker over stable in Valentine
Somehow I put a map marker on the stable in Valentine and now no matter what I do I cannot delete it and it won't go away. I tried with a controller but doesn't give an option to remove the marker. Now I have an annoying red marker on my minimap. Any help would be most welcome.

Select the marker from the TAB in the left. When you are directly on it, look at the bottom right for the controls. It will give you the option to remove the custom marker.

Should just need to get the cross hairs over your marker and press Z (by default) to remove it.

Yeah, but selecting it in the left TAB works better for me. For some reason the map sometgimes likes to jump around when I click on it.

I wish that had worked. Was hoping that the marker would dissappear when you get to the marker, so I climbed up the stable and walked over the marker but it's still there. I've tried to hover over it and all that and won't give me an option to delete it. Tried tab and z and everything I could think of and no luck. I really don't want to start over although I'm only on chapter 3.

You don't need to be physically there. The marker has to be selected on the map. If that doesn't work, try to reset the keybindings to default. Maybe that does something>

I'll give that a try, hopefully that works. I've tried to use the companion app but couldn't get it to link to my social club profile but that's another issue all together.

did you find a way to remove the marker?
i have the exact same issue with a marker i managed put directly on top of the trapper in saint denis
whenever i move the cursor over the marker, the 'press z to add/remove marker' function, is greyed out, just like it does if you hover over any POI on the map
i can't play the game with an unwanted marker constantly showing on my mini map, it'll drive me nuts!

Same here, even when I select the marker on the Map I can't delete it with "Z" seems to be a bug? I already have 3 :(

Still haven't found the solution, had to start over. Now I'm very careful how I handle the map. I don't put custom markers down, just way points so I don't have a custom marker get stuck and can't remove. Sorry I don't have better news

It was driving me crazy as well. I tried every trick, I tried the mobile app and tried to sync it with my account but it never worked. I heard you could use the companion app to put and remove markers from the map as well. Give that a try and see if that works.

Yeah, whenever a location marker has a context menu popping up, the mouse cursor jumps and the marker is set some distance off.

Ok found a solution which is working for me. My OS and Game language is in English, but my Keyboard layout is in German. So I have to press Y instead of Z (even tho the game displays Z) Try this if you have a similar configuration with different languages.

Hmm that's interesting, both of mine is in English. If it happens again I'll try Y instead of Z. Thank you friend.

I have already confirmed with Rockstar that the Companion App is not supported for PC users. I asked the support person if that was something that would be supported in the future and the reply was "That is not something I am able to discuss at this time". So... very vague reply, but the fact remains that the companion app doesn't work for PC users.

Yea that's some bullbutter right there.
It functions some with your account and progress but you can't sync the map 😑
