Side Mouse buttons affect Menus
I use a side mouse button as push to talk for Discord. Whenever I release this button, it selects whatever I am looking at in my in-game menu as if I had pressed enter. This is making me frequently buy things I have no interest in, wasting my very limited beginner money. This button does not show up anywhere in keybinds that I can find. Can anyone help me disable this keybind for ingame? I am not willing to play a game that hijacks my PTT button.

It's not in the controls. It's mouse button 5 and mouse button 5 is not listed under any in-game keybind, yet the game uses it. How do I stop that?

Is it Razer or Logitech? Change that button to a keybind stroke using their software

Check the software configuration for your mouse and check what mouse button 5 is treated as. It may be doing an operation that RDR2 is treating as enter. If so, remapping it there may fix the issue, though that may not then work with Discord. Either way, looking at how the mouse software configuration is set up may be the information you need to figure out why what's happening is happening.

rebind it in your mouse software to a random out of the way key you never use or go into the game, select a button, click it to change, press mouse 5 see what it says it is

Go to setting - click on controls - click on key mapping - scroll down till you see online gameplay - it will be the first one. :handywrench:

Nothing to fix, it's all customizable by the gamer.

no it's not, you cannot disable mouse button 4 or 5 from clicking things in menus...

What if you have a mouse without software that you cannot rebind the keys with? Or what if you aren't experienced enough to know how to rebind keys on your mouse's software?

This is so f***ed up... yes, it is in controls, I reboud the "back" key IN SOLO PLAYER MODE...
it DOES NOT WORK in RDR2 online!!
I use "Mouse 4" as Push to talk in Teamspeak and others and I could simply delete the binding in the game but somehow, it magically came back in ONLINE mode... yet the key binding is not changed, there is no "Mouse 4" in the bindings but the game doesnt respect that

Hasn't fixed it for me and is super annoying. First time playing online and with it being my PTT, I'll likely just go back to SP. Closes my maps, backs out of menus, frustrating as all be.

Sounds like the game doesn't support mouse button 5 and treats it like another enter button. Maybe stop using that button? I only count 3 buttons on a mouse. Sounds like you need to remap that function key to be less selecty.
No, it responds to "Back" and "Forward" browser keys often bound as defaults to mouse side buttons.
