What is up with the high texture?
I have texture on high, I am at camp and I look at the grass and the ground looks blurry as if I was on a lower quality. If it matters I use Gx 1080.Is it just me or is it just normal for everyone?

Looks like lo-res textures, they were not loaded properly. I had this issue in Skyrim and Fallout 4 once.

Have the same issue with a 1070, playing with textures set to Ultra.

The ground is also affected by a lot of the other graphics settings.
try parallax occlusion and tesselation settings for example.

There are some good videos on youtube that go over all the settings.

My ground clutter does not look that blurry and I'm running on high as well. Sounds like a conflict in settings as mentioned above. That looks like Ark with ground clutter turned off.

Thanks for the info guys it seems to make sense. I can't find any solutions online :( many people had this problem it seems. Hopefully it gets patched.

I think that in general, the textures on the ground aren't very high. I play on mostly high settings with shadow and reflection quality set to medium. And the ground textures don't impress me much either but hey at least it's the ground and not with the character models.

the witcher 3 has a lot better graphics than this game and I run it at 60 fps with no problem, but rdr 2 looks horrible and I struggle to reach 60 fps on medium settings

Probably worth mentioning the lighting in this game is without a doubt superior and the scale of the game is much larger then the witcher.

The main game worlds are actually surprisingly similar in size and detail, and the volumetric light/fog quality is better in RDR2. A big issue for clearness on anything is the TAA issue which makes everything look blurry at resolutions over 1080p.

It's tolerable but it also does the same things to some clothes too. Alot of the vests are blurry and some of the coats too.

Just put higher, surprisingly it doesn't hit performance that much compared to other settings.

For starters, if you're using a 1080 you should definitely have textures on ultra and anisotropic filtering on 16x. I have a 980 Ti and I wouldn't even consider setting those lower.

After that, look at TAA. I have it on medium and in the advanced settings you can change the sharpness to whatever you want with no performance loss. But the setting also states that if you set it too high or too low you can get blurry textures up close or at a distance, so there's that.

Aside from TAA, I have read that using NVIDIA's sharpening filter through the control panel makes quite a difference, but I haven't tried it. Just read it now. Probably will try it next time I play. I have noticed some blurry textures at times, and I think it's more related to TAA than anything.

I do have it on 16x and my video memory isn't large enough for Ultra textures. I have heard about the sharpening filter, I'll give it a try. So Should I just make the TAA on medium? It seems to have a big role in this.

You can run textures on ultra, easily. I had them on Ultra with 8x anistropy on a 1050Ti. Look at the advanced settings, there's a sharpness meter and grass settings. There's more settings than I;ve seen in almost any game.

That said, I just got a 2060S and I am quite disappointed that the game is noticably blurrier than on the 1050, but only at a distance, up close everything looks fine.
