Is Grin and Bear it achievement bugged?

I've let like 12 bears attack and nearly kill me, then I killed them (from the ground, as needed) but my achievement tracker stays at 11/100 and does not move at all. And I see that 0 people have that achievement (well, it says 0%). Bugged?

Yeah, I've been killing grizzlies too. Black Bears do not attack, they flee.

I'll go and see what happens if I kill 18

Well, killing 25 did nothing. Still at 11/100 :(

No, it's not bugged. The kills only count with Grizzly Bears and when they enter the combat animation with you.

As for the 5/100, that is the percentage value to unlocking the achievement. Each bear you kill represents 5.55%, Steam doesn't show the two decimal places. So, 18 * 0.055 = 1.00 or 100%.

Yea, works fine, or at least it did for me.

Im not sure about the beat attacks... Sometimes it got me with 1 hit, so I couldn't even "fight" him.

How did you get it to work in the end? My tracker is still at 11/100 after doing the attacks properly

I cannot remember exactly how it worked, but it did. Once I was done with everything else in game, I just looked for them in their spawn points for a few hours and it worked.

You cannot save, kill a bear, load and kill the same one again. It will count as only one kill, no matter what. It needs to spawn a fresh new grizzly bear.

Yeah, I have a good method for spawning fresh critters. But when I killed the bear after the stabbing and before getting off my back (one shot with a sawed-off), it still didn't track. Both methods were in the video "Red Dead Redemption 2 -Attacked by a Bear? Grin and Bear It - Fastest Way to Survive 18 Bear Attacks" by PS5Trophies.

I suppose I'll just keep trying, and hopefully it'll eventually track.
