Activation Error, Your social club account is not entitled to RDR2
I can't start the game. I get this error every time, just after the shotgun blast and legalese screens on startup. It's like the game is trying to online-check and doesn't think I'm connected to internet. I am. Also disabled antivirus and firewall, deleted and reinstalled, reset Winsock, etc, etc. Was on with a RS tech for an hour and they had no clue.....anyone?

Log out of the Rockstar launcher and log back in again. It's been an issue with Social Club for year. They refuse to fix it.

Tried that, tried deleting local file, Launcher folder, Social Club folder. Nothing works

Malimos, I used the chat option and got a tech in about 20min.

I encounter this nearly every time I load up the game. In my experience I just have to keep trying and eventually it'll take. If after a couple tries it's still not loading, then I'll open the Rockstar launcher and launch the game from there with the "Play on Steam" button. That usually works but not always.

BUT I (hopefully) found a solution to play the story for now.
Switch Steam to Offline Mode and start the game through Steam, that worked for me so far. Hope this helps someone else.

I try to fix it by deleting the Red Dead Redemption 2 directory to C:\Users\[your user]\Documents\Rockstar Games

After deleting launch the game and use cloud save

Try disabling your antivirus before launching game. I had a RDR2 update being blocked via antivirus through the Rockstar launcher. Once updated turn antivirus back on. Haven't had issue since.

Same issue, tried all the things

Same issue and found R* help desk no help. 🤬 Had to get a refund...
I tried to get a refund but apparently all of the hundreds of times I've tried to start the game surpassed the 2 hour limit on refunds. SMH
