Rockstar Games Launcher won't work / load / respond
You buy a game that looks great in gameplay videos.
Wait 5-6 hours to download the game.
It requires another launcher ( Rockstar Games Launcher ). Ohh well it's just another one to install ( not a problem - got used to it ).

But when you can't even play the game because the dev's own launcher won't load / start / work .

Would like a response from a developer on how to fix the launcher / or even better a patch that won't require said launcher to play the game.

Really don't want to refund it because the game looks great and I really do want to play it.

So please Rockstar let me play your own game ?!??!

Cheers.

If you could describe the issues you're having folks might be able to help.

Fresh install of Rockstar Games Launcher.

To play the game or even without trying to load the game.

When you try to load / start the launcher it freezes on "Connecting to Rockstar Games Services".

Window is called "StartupWindow" (Not responding) - Black Square.

And like I said it's a fresh install.

Lol you've not gotten to the part of multiplayer. You'll be real happy there

*Read my other threads, I have a similar problem. Never started to play yet.
I opened a Touble Ticket to Rockstar Support, including Log files and system/graphics infos.
It's still open after 1 week. No answer yet.
From Steam seems like I played more than one hour, but it's not true: simply it counts even the loading time, but i used such amount of time only for trying different configurations and started to load the game.
Good luck... we can say just this to each other

Perhaps.

I've not even gotten to the part of the "Loading logos / screen / video" of the actual game.

Heck not even the game trying to load.

Got to love DRM

Games these days NEED to HAVE an Achivement called "Managed to load the game - yey"

And then "Congrats your game didn't crash for 2 hours"

Why would I use that at all?

And it can't really justify the launcher working after.

I just tried to download the latest Beta nVidia Drivers with Vulkan support, clean install of drivers, clean of Rock Launcher, nothing. Always the same.
I give up.

If I'm sure that the problem is the dual Launcher Rockstar/Steam, I'd ask for refund of Steam version and buy again the Rocksta Launcher only, but it seems it's a problem of compatibility at the moment, Steam or not Steam

I had problems installing the Rockstar launcher at first. I found a solution in the forums that worked for me.

Change the default Rockstar launcher install directory from 'C:\Program Files...' to anything else.

I chose just 'C:\Rockstar Games'. This is just for the launcher, the game itself can be installed wherever you like.
(it apparently had a problem with administrator rights in the 'Program Files' directory...or something)

i guess im lucky, i got the game to lunch first try and i havent had a crash in almost 60 hours of gameplay and the only bug ive experienced is me falling from the sky after using a stagecoach, but it was purely visual since it did no damage
