Is this playable with a controller?
I've seen some people have to unplug their controller to play this game otherwise it will crash, is this a common thing?
(I have a wireless xbox one controller)

I do own a PS4 controller but emulated to be recognized by the system like an Xbox one and I have yet to experience any issue of that regard.

I've only every played with an Xbox controller. Never heard of or seen this issue.

Initially, the game always crashed when I started it with a controller plugged in, but I haven't had that happen for a while now. I always try to play shooting games with a mouse and KB, so I haven't tried playing this with a controller. However, some folks were saying that you could just plug in the controller after starting the game, and then you didn't have a problem. So, even if you want to use a controller, and the game won't start with one plugged in, you should still be able to play with a controller by plugging it in after starting the game.

I use a dual shock 4. I have never crashed whilst using it.

However, just two days ago I suddenly couldn't use R3 to "look back". Instead when pressing R3 the game switch to eagle vision (which should only happen pressing L3+R3).

There seems to be some sort of conflict (duh) - but everytime i hit R3 my keyboards caps lock switch on/off. It's as if the game can't decide if im using the keyboard or controller.

I have not messed around with any button configs for the dual shock within steam. Just plugged and played.

I have played it with a Steam controller, DualShock 4, Xbox One X and NVIDIA Shield controller. I cannot tell you why some people think you have to unplug controllers to start the game, other than they're using some kind of third-party software that I do not have.

Why would you want to play with a controller? I have the PS4 version too, and the one thing I always hated about it was the auto-lock. I like aiming for myself, which is why I got the PC version (that, and the better graphics).

I use an Xbox One controller and it works perfectly. Even gives you more functionality than mouse and keyboard with the vibration used to detect a lot of hidden collectibles. I have never experienced a crash with my controller plugged in while loading the game and my controller is ALWAYS plugged in.

But I have read other reviews and people experiencing that issue. This game (the online play part of it) has a lot of weird glitches and bugs that don't happen to everyone across the board, so just go into it knowing the single player is extremely polished, but the online play feels like an alpha.

All you gotta do as a KB&M player is have a controller plugged in, sitting idle on your desk. It'll rumble when appropriate, making sure you don't miss those little things.

yeah i can understand why people prefer kbm for things like that, but i don't really mind since the combat isn't my main interest in this game and just want to play it casually for the story and exploration.

Yes, i can play sometimes without problems, sometimes the game don't detect the controller, but almost always i can play with it, maybe help desactivate the Steam Overlay, but don't know, looks like random fails

the fixed that more or less. you would still plug it after the game booted so u would still use a controller just with a bit of hassle
