Is GTX 970 enough for this game?
Hello everyone, my graphics card is a GTX 970 I have an AMD FX 8350 CPU and I have 8 GB of ram. My monitor has a resolution of 1440p and I play most games in high graphics and some in ultra at more than 80 FPS. I bought this game 15 days ago and it worked poorly and I refunded, I bought it again and it works just as badly, with all the settings in low and resolution scaled in half it goes to 40 FPS, no resolution scaling works for me at 30 FPS, is it normal because this game is poorly optimized? Or is my PC not enough to run this game? Thanks greetings

I leave a video I made when the game came out on steam

turn down shadow quality, volumetrics, particle and you will be fine.

My second computer plays this on a gtx 1060 and runs good,

don't listen those elitist scumbags

Unless you are playing F2P or olg gen games, i call this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. With 8 gigs of ram and 3,5 Vram at 1440p, all modern AAA-titles will stutter on your system and you wont achieve "80fps+".
And no, you want be able to play RDR2 smooth, let alone at 1440p.

your cpu is the bottleneck and system memory at 8 gigs? Yuck

Yes game is poorly optimized indeed, you can see plenty posts about this here and on Youtube,

I can advice wait for more patches but ı doubt they ever gonna fix it, since they claim "most of the performance issues are now resolved" which is a lie, you can see this statement on their website patch notes or on google.

funny fact is my main computer does not have any performance related issues with this game and its have a AMD ryzen processor which mostly Intel is recommended for gaming and Ryzen for content creation but yet here I'm can play this game in story mode without problems and CANT play online due to disconnections.

I believe this is a messy launch on Steam

Modern Warfare 2019 is not a old gen game and works to 90 FPS, Rainbow Six Siege works for me at 90 FPS Devil May Cry 5 90 FPS, Hitman 2 70 FPS, Assetto Corsa 90 FPS, Project Cars 2 100 FPS +. I do not understand that consoles worse than the PC I have are able to run this game and my PC does not. Maybe bad optimization like it happened with Grand Theft Auto IV

Ryzen isn`t meant for content creation. It is as much of a gaming cpu as their Intel equivalents. It`s just that Ryzens offer more cores/threads/better IPC at the same price which makes them the better allrounder.
Intel only wins in gaming because of better cache/memory latency due to the monolithic design.

This game is a bad port, there is nothing wrong with your system,

It's sad because I've been waiting for a long time to get out of this game, I'm a big fan of Rockstar and I have all his games. I have seen many videos on YouTube and people with PC better than mine do not make it work at 60 FPS, too bad because this game is very good.

Gtx 970 performance: 1080p Ultra settings hovering around 55-75fps.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qgPnDHdXHEY
Gtx 970 performance: 1440p Ultra/high settings around 40-60 fps

Dont know about the others. Try assassins creed, wildlands, the division 2 and you sure wont achieve high framerates at 1440p. Why do i say this? Because i myself have a gtx970.
Besides the fact that RDR2 is badly optimised and layered with ♥♥♥♥♥♥ DRM launchers.

This video is mine, the only settings I have in low are the shadows

I uploaded this video today and how it works well for me and I don't need to see the FPS I remove the FPS overlay

Trust me I don't need to lie to you, maybe it works better because my GTX 970 is an SSC version

970 Is not enough for 1440p 60fps on red dead 2. Your fx cpu is probably holding you back more than your 970 though to be honest. I used to have one and it was not great.

This CPU has given me problems since I bought it, temperature and performance problems, it's the next thing I'm going to change. Thanks for your answer.

With the people saying the cpu is holding you back.
And you saying you have all the settings on low...

You may see improvements by turning some of those settings up higher.
As, typically those settings are rated based on how taxxing they are for the gpu.

And the lower settings can make it easier on the gpu, but harder on the cpu.

OC FX 6300 4.5 ghz and rx 480 8gb 1330 mhz.
I have something around 40 fps and almost all settings ultra or high. Lowering settings to medium-high gives me stable 60's. My res is 2560x1080. API is VULKAN not dx12
Imho great port
