shooting combat too easy?

anyone? I don't know if it's the mouse and keyboard or some other reason, but the shooting feels ridiculously easy...especially with the dead eye. Sometimes you could just walk directly to like 10 enemies in front of you with your dead eye on, not taking cover whatsoever. Great game otherwise, but this sort of bothers me :/

I Don't use dead eye, for me it's better that way, even if I am lousy at hitting stuff.
But it's nice to hunt from horse back when I actually hit something.

The game was developed originally for consoles, where aiming is more difficult even with auto-aim on.

I know it's not much of an answer, but Dead Eye is, to my knowledge, an entirely optional feature, so you can completely disregard it if it makes your game too easy.

I only use it for shooting on horseback, for instance.

I use Dead Eye only for specific reasons. Mostly for hunting small birds...

Every now and then the game will love to screw you with bloom. I can land headshots on guys 50 yards away with ease, but then there are times where I've emptied 12 shots into an enemy 5 feet away and they all miss, basically forcing deadeye for the free reload or risk being killed by a single guy.

Shooting wolf to head with revolver should stop it I think. Even if it is bit dirty. Otherwise game is quite nice compromise of gameplay and realism.

First (and only) time I died in a shootout was after 87 hours (single player).
A bit on the easy side maybe.

It is very easy but that's rockstar so it has auto aim. I guess you could turn that off.
I actually had forgotten about dead eye because I didn't like the mechanics. (the previous one had a better dead eye system,. I use a gamepad though.

Dead eye is not optional but a must have in certain situations.
You coud easily die by one hit with a knife in a chest from a specific type of enemies who rushes you in a straith line... following them by the double barrel guys as well.

When you get heavily outnumbered and your weapon still has reoil control after evey taken shot... it forces you to go for dead eye in specific fights.
Also if you angry a shotgun guy from a close range and coud not escape it you woud't be risking it going for free aim... you woud go for... a DEADEYE.

The game was intentionaly designed that way.

Did you also notice how easy it is to stay alive if you just drink healing items repeatedly? You can run forever if you use sprinting items on repeat too.... It's almost like if you abuse the mechanics, the game gets far easier.

Stop using deadeye, problem solved.

I'm not using Dead Eye, it destroys the game for me.

Yes, the fights against people are too easy, you can easily replace yourself to counter flanking ennemies. I'm also regularly killing them all with the knife, you just have to avoid beeing outnumbered in melee ! It's quick and save a lot of bullets !

Close fights with animals (wolfs) may become quiet hard, very quickly, and often lead to death.

Aiming with KB and mouse is _way_ easier than with a controller, but it's still hard. I'd rarely if ever get a headshot without deadeye. I expect that folks who are into FPS games would think that it's easy, but as someone who has only rarely played games like that, shooting is hard in this game.

PC is too easy, if you fully utilize the dead eye tool, agreed. I want to play through again, but need more difficult to justify.
