Having Ps4 controller issues

Hi,
I am trying to play this game with my dualshock 4 controller. However, steam WILL detect my controller and allow to set configurations, but it won't work when I am in game. Any solutions?

I'm also currently having controller problems. The controller is connected but there's no input, like it's not in focus.

I believe PS4 isnt plug and play like Xbox 360 controller. you need a 3rd party program to set it up correctly. sorry kinda forget the name of the program

Go to Rockstar launcher settings and make it so it doesn't hibernate or close after starting game, it needs it for DS4 support.

Indeed. Xbox is also a microsoft product so you know they gonna make it easier for windows PC to recognize.

I just posted the solution above, works fie with DS4 via wire and has PS4 button prompts.

No additional software needed.

What worked for me without adding software was to go into steam controller settings and uncheck the ps4 configuration box, and the xbox one for good measure, then playing the game in big picture mode each time.
