Game's on an SSD, runs fine. All the issues are on Rockstar's end.
Sidenote: You can't use DX12

Thanks Toastie Buns. Trying to stay away from 10 as long as possible.

Understandable my dude. You *might* have an issue with flickering screens, this is fixed by updating to latest GPU drivers.

You might also have an issue with resolution scaling, which is fixed by alt+enter and then fixing resolution.

After this, you will have no more issues on your side, just disconnects, infinite loading screens and the occasional crash to desktop (that was more during Christmas, since then I have had no CTDs at all)

Microsoft had free upgrades to Windows 10 for a year, did you miss the memo?

Windows 7 is a security risk, no? since Microsoft no longer updates and supports said operating system.

Nobody missed anything, we're just chilling on a decent operation system.

Win 7 has the traditional user interface, Win 10 doesn't. I have both and prefer the older interface, not needing the touch screen capability of 10.

My Win 7 system has 16gB of RAM and RDR doesn't use more than about 50% of it.
1060 with 3gB RAM running flat out - 100%
i7 3770 (many years old)
1tB ancient hard disk

I'm running just a notch less than ultra in RDR and am getting 30 FPS at 1920x1080. I've had no problems at all with RDR2 in weeks of online play.

I'm running a mix of ultra and high and getting 55 at the lowest.

No one forces you to use a touch screen.

In fact, I don't have one on my desktop PC, and I'm still running with thw same interface like back in 1995, clicking buttons with my mouse.

Windows 8 was the bad one with the lack of a classic start menu.
Although, I barely need it, as I use keyboard shortcuts for most of my work, and desktop shortcuts for currently played games.

It is very dangerous to not update unless you spend the $350 to get extended security updates, you can be hit with very dangerous viruses that could've been solved by just updating your OS, Windows 10 is the BEST os for gaming, the performance is at its peak. You've always needed to modify OS to make them work the way you wanted to and it takes no more than 45 minutes of setup and you're good to go for the rest of your Windows 10 life.

Yeah, but Toastie Bun's opinion and musings about your common operation system were A-OK, because they fit yours.

But real classy that you go ad hominem instantly for no good reason at all.

Well yeah, because the question was "Anyone running it on win 7?" not "Should I upgrade to win 10 to play?"

Just went into Saint Denis for the first time (at night)... solid 60FPS@1440p. I'm a happy camper. Looks jaw dropping using HardwareUnboxed optimized settings.

Windows 7
2600k
16gb RAM
GTX1080

Old PCs rule
