As to whether or not it's worth it to you, that depends. What did you like about FF6 when you played the Steam version?
The extra options like toggling the new and old versions of the OST and the boosts to augment how much EXP/gil/ABP you get and being able to turn off encounters without needing mods is also a big bonus.
I do think that there is value in both versions, even if I personally hate the old versions, though. That said, if I could only pick 1 to buy and play going forward, I would pick the Pixel Remaster without any hesitation. It's not perfect, but it has a lot more going for it than the old version, in my opinion, and its flaws are also far easier to overlook than the old versions', too.
If "money's not an option" (I'm assuming you mean "money's no object" as in you don't care about the price tags) then the only objectively correct choice is buying the most ridiculously extravagant entertainment center possible, like a curved IMAX style screen with immersive multi-point surround and all that fancypants stuff, getting an OG SNES hooked up to it somehow, bypassing hack protection protocols on its BIOS, and then flashing the Brave New World romhack unto a physical cart while also patching in Woolsey's original script to merge where appropriate with BNW. And, I'm also going to buy some beef jerky to eat while playing it, because a man can't game on an empty stomach and jerky is WAY too expensive now. Like, seriously, can we TALK about that for a minute? It's supposed to be a blue-collar "working man" food and now I need to sell my kidney for a 1 oz package (that's OUNCE, because I'm in 'murica and we don't like metrics). But if money's no object, I get all the jerky I want.
Now if we're talking about actually answering your question instead of being rhetorically silly, then I guess I'd have to say I'd prefer the PR version.
But yes buy the Pixel Remaster Version , you get full screen and updated music to make up for the lost content.
And is there any content from the original SNES version that was taken out from this PR version?
As for your second question, the only thing missing from the FFVI PR (that I am aware of, at least) are the menu customization options to give you different colors and patterns on your text boxes and menus. (But none of the Pixel Remasters have that, not just FFVI) It otherwise has all the same content that was in the original SNES release.
