I don't know what's causing your problem, but I can suggest a few things to try fixing or diagnosing it:
- Make sure you've uninstalled every mod; verify the game's integrity with Steam, or uninstall and reinstall it.
- Try turning Steam Input support for the game off (or on if you had it off), or reset the controller layout to default.
- Have you tried both keyboard and controller?
- Do you have any other programs running in the background that might be taking input away from the game's window? Try closing everything that's not necessary.
- Do you have another computer you can test it on to see if the same problem happens there?
Hi, thanks for offering to help me. I did a few tests and surprisingly got it working.
What I did is I downloaded through steam console the old version of the game. I completely deleted everything in the FF IV folder, replaced it with the old version, ran it and tried to run the old save files. The controls worked.
So then I thought to myself what if I download the new version? So I validated the game files and got the new version of the game. And surprisingly it worked, I was able to move again.
My guess is one of the mods was not deleted in the newer update and caused the save file to bug out. Downside of this is now probably most of the mods on Nexus don't work. I kinda liked the white haired Cecil from FF IV 3D remake. Oh well, thanks again.
They refuse to fix the stuttering when walking around, its maddening, and because of it there's no reason to play this version unless you like having your eyes annoyed.
I had a similar sounding problem of all the controls being frozen after loading a save. It seems the new update isn't compatible with the Memoria mod. Removing Memoria fixed the saves for me, so try this:
1) Make sure your game is NOT running.
2) Find where your FFIV Pixel Remaster is installed.
3) Browse to ...\FINAL FANTASY IV PR\BepInEx\plugins and delete all the files there.
4) Run the game, reload a save, and see if you can move the characters.
