aww..the eyes were a good place to farm experience...sadly...so sorry everyone here cannot have the fun experience of the other games...lol.
This is user friendly final fantasy. A hallway full of tough enemies you can suddenly wonder down is classified as a frowny face, so now you have two guys you can attack. They also buffed the heck out of battle rewards, so grinding isn't really a thing.
If you want to be overleveled, just grab some cheap ethers and AOE down fights you would normally skip. It is insane how much money and EXP they throw at you.
Looks and sounds pretty though! Cause that's always been what's important in an 8-bit RPG... Good graphics!
I already noticed that myself. Seems easier to overlevel. Im like level 30 and just beat the earth dungeon. Some enemies are even trying to flee from me regularly now.
Yeah I think the people who made this version tailored it for the online buzz, not how normal people generally play the game.
When people talk about playing this game on the internet, they always talk about how their go to strategy is to flee from as much as possible until you promote, and then farm with the glorious power of the gauntlet and heal staff/helm.
So they made farming easy and balanced the game under the expectation that people would run from the overwhelming majority of fights.
As a result, even Warmech is terrified of the Warriors of Light. It is a good thing the fiends are hard coded not to flee.
If they remake mystic quest, i wonder how they will do that, since most of the monsters you can run from, but they block your path on the map since there basically sitting there.

Heh I had forgotten that game. If they remake it, they had best make it free.
I doubt that..we are talking about square-enix here. I suppose they would put it in a collection if they were smart that had other snes rpg's like brainlord, original secret of mana, and some enix games mixed in too like some of their games too...i would buy it if it was in a collection like that.
I thought the NewGame+ after beating Dawn of Souls set the shop prices and leveling at least back to a more normal pacing. It's been awhile since I played that one though, so I could be wrong there.
XD
QUIIIIIIEEEET....and they may do that. They pulled that thing where they sold dragon quest XI, then 4 months later sold the S version, and made it so the older people who bought original not get it for free or discounted either..sigh.
