Its all about the netcode and how the game handles network part, which is extremely poor and higher the ping, the worse it gets, I have tried to play in the USA (I am from EU) and having over 100 ping makes game feel like playing in a soup...
It is unfortunate, as the game itself is great, but it require a lot of precision which are close to impossible with the current network implementation. Playing practice is night and day difference compared to online part with 30 ping.
I definitely understand the frustrations and I share them with you. The problem is mostly because of how the gameplay works. Existing tech that compensates for the latency simply doesn't work because of how fast and precise the game is. We've tried it before; it works really well when it's just you and the puck but it's bad when other players have the puck. If we could fix it, we would. Our choice was to 1) Keep the game like it is now 2) Change the gameplay completely by making it an almost entirely different game or 3) Cancel the game completely. We went with 1 because people do really like the gameplay despite the shortcomings. Hope you understand.
So for some people (i am OCE) it will just exist with lag for the forseeable future? Any way to get around this with VPNs or otherwise? I'm over playing bots :( appreciate the devs look at steam posts though :)
