If you're one of the people who played 10 minutes, left a negative review and refunded for what is CLEARLY a passion project that has been in development for over four years, I sincerely hope you reconsider how you're treating innovation and ask yourself why the medium is so repetitive and the quality so low nowadays.
Indies are essential for the improvement of the genre and the vocal negative reception by part of the community has been incredibly infuriating to see. We're acting like spoiled children.
Somehow we expect quality higher than AAA from three developers at less than half the price in a game where you can spend upwards of 50 hours. Ridiculous.
I'm 8 hours in and having a blast. Good work!
Keep it up and the game should do well.
Combo need a explanetion and better visual indication. Dodging too.
Agree the combos are not well explained and those little icons in the HUD are useless when you are looking at your enemy.
it needs alot of smoothing of not only the animations, but the chaining and impact of attacks needs to be seriously looked at, as it feels like i need to absolutely mash left click just to chain 2 light attacks together. also the quick item thing is completely broken on the ui and never shows how many heals how actually have on your character, it says 2x no matter if youve used them in the current combat or not, i understand they refill outside of combat, and its an interesting mechanic, but it needs to be communicated much more clearly to the player.
the stamina recovery delay and rate feels awful and needs to be lessened. i dont care if there is certain armor that improves it, it needs to be much faster AT DEFAULT, as it is a core mechanic of the combat, and should not be seen as just some random stat that can be increased or decreased. its an interesting idea, but not for this type of game.
i dont mind playing this on kbm, but the slippery feeling camera really makes everything feel worse and compounds the combat issues. i think this game has incredible potential, and i was genuinely impressed with the starting area both visually and gameplay-wise. it really did feel like a dark souls level with all the connected paths. overhaul the combat, and this could really be something special. however in its current state it is nearly unplayable with how horrible the combat is. im not expecting fromsoft or team ninja levels of smooth, but it is unacceptable in its current state.
some tweeks here and there are needed but you guys have made a really cool game here, the fundamentals are there! but man i didn't know the world was full of so many grown ass babies.
ppl crying about ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ like "the ladders are too long", "combos don't work well", "enemy line of sight is too far (just crouch, it works)"."game doesn't feel like a souls game" wtf, so because a game feels 'different' from another game you've played, it means its not good?? yes it took some getting used to at first especially the combo system for me personally, but i had zero issues learning and adapting to your game. cant believe these reviewers are acting like sheep. some one even said that it took them 2 minutes to climb down a ladder, and that 90% is spent running, 10% is fighting?? they're just outright lying now, and i don't understand why! i'm so dissapointed with the community right now.
what ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, a lot of this is user error. the hitboxes are fine for me, i just had to learn the hitboxes for the different enemies and bosses i've come across so far.
then ppl have the nerve to try compare this to Eldern ring?? really guys?? a whole triple A studio the 5 souls games under their belt, and their latest one took them just under 5 years to make their game! VS a team of 3 ppl.......how small do you have to be to wake up and choose to discredit all the love and work that you you guys have achieved as a 3 man team.
i got around the controller issues before you patch, even though is shows the controller shortcuts, i had to re-assign everything, and also realised that mouse sensitivity also affects the controller look sensitivity.
i don't have an argument against the bugs, they're there and I've experienced them. but the game is very much playable! its by no means as bad as ppl are making it sound, especially with the respawn point that we can set ourselves.
i could go on and on but this is already too long. I just wanted to give the devs some much deserved love, you guys deserve to be put up on a pedestal for what you have done here, not this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ you guys are receiving. this breaks my heart......
