The Deluge makes me love the sense of scale, though. Phenomenal locale
They put in a swim mechanic in a game, and put red-glowing markers deep in the water. If you cannot follow literally red lights, you simply should not be playing exploration games.
And the random insta kill mechanic? Neither is it random, nor is it an instakill, you can fight them off lol
I'll upload a vid in a bit.

Here's how to get there from Rain District: Central checkpoint.
From where your character spawns at the Handler Terminal, turn around and take the bridge. Past the bridge, turn right and take the next left up some stairs. You know you're on track when you reach a spell-casting dude (don't step on the AOEs). From there keep left and follow a tunnel down. Explore until you find a ladder. At the top of the ladder will be a Terminal called "Rain Sewers - Lower" (or something). This is your path to Deluge. At one point in the Rain Sewers you will reach an area with multiple paths to go, ending in two elevators. The elevator that takes you to a bridge with a lovecraftian spider abomination is the wrong one, this is a different area. The other elevator takes you to Deluge. Good luck, this entire area is stressful if you have problems with claustrophobia.
EDIT: The video in the comment above shows you the correct elevator, but I would really suggest exploring the Rain Sewers first on your own without watching the video. It's a great, albeit horrifying experience.
