Female character choice?

Will there be a female character choice or can you just play a male character?

As far as I know your character isn't even human, so I'm not sure if that question is relevant.

There is some customisation, but we are unsure how much we will able to add. As it's not exactly a priority. Character from prototype is not the main protagonist.

There is a prototype for backers but I don't think we're allowed to share it.

i would realy like to have the option to play a female protagonist even if to some that may be irrelevant, but i do think the game is fenomenal so far and it's looking really impressive, can't wait to see the finished product!

It'd be cool to have, but if they haven't built the game around that to begin with, it'll be difficult to add in later. A secondary body type essentially requires them to edit all the armor in the game to make it fit properly on the secondary body type (be that male or female). It's a huge amount of work for any indie team. Would be neat, but certainly not a dealbreaker, especially if this ends up with a narrative similar to souls games, where the gender of the player character has no real effect on the story or world around them; at the end of the day, they're just trying to survive.

Given the material the game takes inspiration from, gender does not matter much anymore, as i expect everyone to be so genetically and cybernetically altered that they barely qualify as human anymore.
