Dune: The Building of a Dynasty .. Do a remake and I'll buy...
I've been a fan of Dune since the 1980's and I have to say that there was one Dune game that stood out from all the rest for me.. that was Dune: The Building of a Dynasty. Somehow the story, music and gameplay made me feel immersed into the Dune Universe.

Maybe I'm being nostalgic and perhaps is was due to me reading the books at the time, but for me, that was one of the best games ever for the Dune Universe. If they would do a remake, upgrading everything a bit, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Have any of you played that old masterpiece?

Of course we played Dune 2: The Building of a Dynasty by Westwood. It's the father of a the RTS game genre.

If you liked that game, I presume you also played Dune 2000 (though it didn't capture the magic of the original and objectively Emperor: Battle for Dune was absolute trash due to going "3D" which was all the rage at the time.

You should check out Dune: Spice Wars. It's a solid Dune strategy game though obviously it's traditional RTS, it's still enjoyable to fans of the IP.

Spicewars is nothing like Dune 2/2000, it is completely different and I'd just like to say probably an even better game! But don't go in thinking it's anything like the Westwood games as you will be upset.

The assassination mechanic makes it a worse game by default, lol.

In all seriousness it's an enjoyable enough civ-lite.

Spicewars eh... I'll give it a go! It'll be nice to have a game that has the heart of Dune in it
