Different story if the power can stay on, and stable, for more than an average of 12 hours a day over the course of a month.
You can thank your corrupt politicians for siphoning off all the money that was supposed to go to upkeep of the power grid. And that is just the tippy top of the Massive Iceberg of corruption, scandals, incompetence, and then having the balls to blame it on the very people who were the backbone of the country over the last 300+ years. Savages will be Savages to the end.
If you need an object lesson on where this is going, Look at what Zimbabwe used to be 50 years ago vs the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ it is now.
Hahaha. Yes... Well aware. I've been living here for a very long time.
So let me address your points.
Power for households. We still have loadshedding but we solved this problem by upgrading our bases(homes) with solar panels and batteries.
We have Amazon and Microsoft Datacenters (among others) running in SA, also with backup power generators, solar panels and higher Tier batteries.
Our politicians are like BAD GAME ADMINS. They don't listen to the community and they are very selfish. As soon as they move into our gaming spaces then I will have to update this post but thankfully they are too busy lining their pockets to play games. For now at least.
As for Zim. No object lesson needed but thank you. We have been "Turning into Zim" for 30 odd years now and still haven't gotten there. Again. Will update you on the progress there.
Our Call of Duty community does well in SA. I and many of my SA friends play all manner of games so the state of the country has not affected this.
So again I think a DUNE Awakening server in South Africa would be great if FUNCOM would consider it.
That's usually the issue we face here in SA. I would love to chat to FUNCOM to find out how many players does it take to justify a hub.
I get that hosting a server costs money and it needs to be used by X amount of people but I am looking for X. Is it 1000 players or 10 000 or more?
South Africa probably has around (QUICK CHATGPT MATH) 300k Call of Duty players. Give or take a couple of thousand. So is it that big a stretch to think that we can get 10k Dune Awakening players if we had a local hub?
Hey... You take care down there. My parents still have friends and some distant family that never left. As for servers *shrugs* I just don't see it being economically feasible to host a data center there right now. Just too much instability and uncertainty.
