You guess right, I wasnt even aware of a beta weekend. Could you answer my question now?
Good to hear. It was my only complaint about Conan Exiles, and the devs turned around and blamed us the gamers for building too much. That left a foul taste for FunCom games as a result.
But the game looks fun, so I might have to give them a 2nd chance.
That is great to know. I will buy it on release or a day or 2 after
Devs have implemented a lot more restricted building system this time, so they're trying to avoid the overbuilding issues already before they pop up.
Now the number of bases you can build is limited and so is the space for the bases, you can increase these a limited amount but doing so increases the upkeep costs of the base as well. Making sure that solo players don't build huge castles, with those having upkeep costs that only large active guilds can manage.
Ah, so in your opinion, would a solo be able to enjoy this game? I dont have a gaming community I am with, and I dont enjoy using discord normally. When I game I just want to focus on immersion. Would you recommend a solo who enjoys both pve and pvp ?
Thanks
Don't see why you wouldn't. You can have up to 21 days of energy very quickly from just running scavenger camps. The over building is controlled by the storms and people who don't keep their gens topped off. Think decay in rust/other survival games. Think the servers are also limited to 60 players, but don't quote me on that.
60 per server? I thought this was a MMORPG type game? Even Rust has bigger population. That is very disapointing.
But thanks for the info
That is great to hear! Thanks!
In Dune: Awakening, server population varies by area. The main survival space, Hagga Basin, can hold up to 40 players concurrently. The Deep Desert, a larger PvP area, is designed to hold "a few hundred" players, potentially up to 360-400, through a mesh of 9 servers. Community hubs can accommodate 50-100 players.
Like I said, don't quote me xD. The PvE area is less, the PvP is more and the hub is more than the open world.
It's a common misconception that this would be an MMORPG. It's a survival crafting game with MMO elements to it.
MMORPG is one subgenre of games under the MMO tag. Planetside 2 for example is an MMO but not an MMORPG.
The way the servers in Dune Awakening work, is that each server branch has multiple Hagga Basin maps under it with each having a cap of 60 active players. The players on these can all travel to the single Deep Desert endgame map which can simultaneously host them all. This is the MMO part of the game.
