Dune: Awakening

Cannot complete the game solo?
Watching some reviews, they give the impression you can solo until you create the ornithopter at which point you're thrust into multiplayer, why? why can we not have the option to complete the game solo?

You can do everything solo. Not sure where you got the idea that the ornithopter part then became multi.

Short vid about soloing and other things.
Solo players have done such things as piloted a carryall to a spice field, dropped a harvester there, landed the carryall and collected spice with the harvester until evacuating the harvester with the carryall again after a worm sign.

It is stressful but can be done. In a guild it of course becomes much easier and I recommend this as a guild activity, it is very fun with friends.

For a solo player it's easier to just harvest spice in Hagga Basin by using handheld tools crafted for this purpose, rather than using harvesters with a carryall.

Endgame ores and crystals are in the PvP enabled Deep Desert though, getting to those resources and safely back to the PvE map is easier with a group that can deal with the risks of PvP than going there solo.

A lot of people will be playing solo even in pvp zones. The map in the deep desert is massive, running into others won't be as common. So you can fly in an area, scope it out, then drop in, do your work, then get out.

The idea is to create that constant sense of danger, whether it's the sandstorms, sandworms, dehydration, npcs, or players, you're constantly on edge until you get out safely. That creates a high sense of reward because you understood the risk, you've gambled, and made it out safely. What good would the risk be if you've never run into trouble and lose everything?

If that happens, you respawn, craft your gear again, notice you're running low on materiel, add another item to your to-do list and you go back out.

I understand it may sound like the game is for sweats, but they've created a massive map to explore. You can choose to go to BFE in hopes no one else like you is doing the same, but if it's one person... And no one else is around... And they don't know you're there... Then it may be worth taking a stab at it. 😉

Why are you trying so hard to convince people to play this game, if they already don’t like because of certain aspects?

Why ask why?

It's really not hard to share your thoughts. Plus, by the time I clicked submit, he bounced. I try to give others the benefit of the doubt. And someone else may be perusing the discussion and curious to read the answers. I could list many reasons "why."

I wouldn't either try to convince anyone who point out the least important thing in the whole game, and decides to not play it because of that. But I don't mind to ridicule them like ill ridicule the op, that points a worm that doesn't eat the guy next to him as a reason not to play. A funny quirk made him rage quit. I mean... ok I can apologize if its 10 years old, but its very likely an adult with anger management issues, that will give up upon anything just because of minor inconveniences. Pretty much a solid description of a spoiled brat, that will not be missed. Its good that toxic people self eliminate themselves from the gaming environment. I pity anyone that will have to bear his presence in other online game tho.

EDIT: I feel stupid, op has totally valid point, he was pointing out what dude says, not what is happening on the screen.

It's important to me, too many people are willing to be tied to online.

I feel really stupid now, totally valid point, I was focusing on the game footing. Ill keep my message tho as a punishment and memento about my stupidity.

But nevertheless game is perfectly soloable, I wouldn't trash it just because there is no single player mode.

Define 'complete'? This is a survival MMO not sure you can complete it. Unless you means the main story questline, in which case noone knows.

Supposedly there is the potential of ~80-100 hours of content that does not require any interaction with other players other than perhaps passing them by as you travel around Hagga Basin.

Beyond that - late/endgame will have solo activities as well as multiplayer and pvp.

Very unlikely the story can't be completed solo.

Beyond that we have some content which you may play forever without completion. And it's better to be played with some people than solo. However, it's still doable solo anyway.

Why are you on a forum asking questions of others, if you only want to go solo?
