I'm actually wondering now, how many survival games have stories? I'm not versed in the genre, and I'm sure there's some elements of a story like green hell or forest, but are they heavily story driven like this game seems to be?
Sure, I understood that, the ones you played, are they driven by a vast story rich in lore and constantly referenced in cutscenes or character progression?
Return to Moria is about the only real narrative driven survival game I've played - and I've played a lot of em.
Most really don't have a very deep or engaging story to them. If they have any narrative at all, its typically a lightly done arc that really only exists to tie together boss fights or give you some fluff as you progress.
Generally speaking - if you're after rich storylines - survival games are usually not where you'd look.
Ah ok. I was thinking that but didn't want to blurt it out. So with Moria did it have cutscenes to deeply immerse you into the world? I've always been curious about that game but written off due to seeing vids of Gollum. Figured it would've been another cash grab.
