Dune: Awakening

Dune: Awakening

Deep thoughts by Jack Handy
I haven't played this game yet. I've heard it's set in an alternate universe (which shocked me at first, but now I love the idea of a Dune multiverse) where Jessica gave birth to a female as instructed and Feyd is still planned to father the Kwizatz. One thing that I am worried by is all the Brian Herbert stuff (aka Kevin J Anderson) that is absolutely awful. I wish that POS never ruined Franks universe. It's alllll garbage and it ruins tons of Franks stuff with contradictions.

The multiverse idea is cool. You could have a universe in which Miles Teg and Odrade built no ships that also can cross dimensions. The fight against human extinction, the worm that sees a way to survival of the species. Could all be done a million different ways.

I heard there are no lasguns in this game or shields. That's interesting.

I saw it appears you can choose between only two character creations, a Bene or a Sword dude and something about the other one unlocks basically early game, so everyone is choosing bene.

I hope this game is good and i hope the developers lean more towards frank than kevin j anderson whom ruined a bunch of Star Wars books with awful writing and did it to Dune too.

I don't understand anyone who can read the original dune books and then read the spin offs and want that crap in the Frank universe. C'mon!

Lasguns and shield are in the game but there is a safety mechanism built into the guns that deniess the 'nuke capacity' of the lasguns versus shields as in the canon.
Technically it's an alternate timeline and not a multi-verse to make the game play more enjoyable for the player. No Paul/ultimate being means you get to be the hero.
There are 5 class types. You'll have have to distribute points as you earn then to unlock your build. 4 are combat classes and 1 (planetologist) is non-combat although they have do have skills that can augment combat classes.

It's a dune game, it doesn't have to be lore perfect canon. Get a grip of yourself.

Who's Jack Handy... not that it matters, I disagree with him.

I do not consider anything his son wrote to be canon, it's fan fic.
