Sure you can put a wall block into a rock side, but then you can't put anything else on top etc. This limits bases to be built in the open.
But there are still going to be a lot of boxes. They are easy and still perfectly functional, and that alone will be enough to many people.

Make sense, but I wonder how the pvp will work with that. In Rust, base building is extremely important, either for defense or attack. The last thing you want is to be griefed/door camped all day because your base is built stupidly.
