Dune: Awakening

Dune: Awakening

Devs: Increase crafting material requirements.
Firstly, I am not talking about base pieces - like walls/doors/roofs/structures/etc - this seems to be fine.

Listen guys, we need to seriously talk about how laughably EASY it is to gather the materials required to craft things. For instance, you can craft an entire 2 x sandbikes by looting the chests in the very first imperial testing station once. And you'll likely have double digit left overs.

To setup an entire T1 base, the material requirements are like.... 305 x Salvaged Metal (this includes sub-fief console, fuel-powered generator, small ore refinery, fabricator, and blood purifier). This is laughably simple to collect and trivializes this portion of the game.

Some people are going to say something like "but meh 140,000ml water to build a thopter, grind is real"... and that's dumb. Here's why: That's ONLY 50 x medium blood sack's pushed through the Improved Blood Purifier. And you likely already having that Windtrap setup before you're pushing for a thopter anyway which is going to generate mass amounts of water while you're offline.

So no, the resource grind is never going to be something that is "insane" or "beyond a single player". If anything, it just makes it stupidly easy to acquire everything. The material requirements for guns / vehicles should be DOUBLED or even more.

its only mk1 bikes with crap quality - that's totally fine

There is a clip somewhere showing that crafting one of the highest tier ornithopters actually requires a lake of water not to mention the amount of other resources.
Let's check the whole game before slowing down playability and progress that way, ok?

I have already discussed how thopters are not difficult to craft by a solo player, did you not read the post I wrote before commenting?

I think the point Nick was trying to make was - let's see 100% of the game then start balancing on a case to case basis.

Ok. Right.
Going for resources will anyway be the main focus of the whole game. I just don't see the need to push it even further during the "story" line time.
go outside and touch the grass, you're going to live in the game?
For single-player, sure. But vehicles are going to be destructible and expendable in the DD, and even gear won't be safe because of durability loss and occasional full-loot rules. Point being, you shouldn't be punished too much for dying in pvp, you should be able to get back in there pretty quick.

You didn't even play beta did you? It takes 10 seconds to collect like 90 Salvaged Metal from the mining node. That will allow me to build an entire base. And this is before you loot some from POI's. I love the brain dead response though. Turns out you can both touch grass AND spend 20-30 seconds in game collecting Salvaged Metal to build an entire T1 base. Idiot.

4 x Windtraps in your base collects 259,200 ml of water every 24 hours. This is beyond the requirement to build the base scout ornithopter. People with brains and calculators are going to be swimming in resources and people without these two things are going to be shocked how quickly they can craft replacement items. It takes almost zero effort.

Thought a tier 1 base needed granite?

I'm talking about setting up the production equipment. To build the structural pieces it's 10 granite per piece. So literally you can build 40 some pieces after hitting 3 granite nodes. That is more than you'll need until you build a permanent end game base. Starter 3x2 = 200 granite.

I was just being a pedant, for what it is worth I agree with you, everything does feel a bit too easy. Not sure why you are being quite so angry about it though.

And here we go..... It is the Elitists that you have to watch out for.... they will make demands that screw over casual players.... I have lost track of the games that have been destroyed by Elitists.....
