My setup is beginning to struggle with some games lately, but this was absolutely acceptable, with some adjustments I won't have to resort to FSR3 at all.
Did you try frame generation as well? FSR3 enables it for you. If your framerate was without FG, you could probably set it on and go for FSR3 quality.
But I want to counter your statement that lossless scaling has "no issues". It has very big issues, the same issues that have plagued framegen since its introduction: major input lag and visual artifacts, especially on UI.
Just because you don't notice them or they aren't bothersome in a particular game, doesn't mean they aren't a problem.
I do love LS for emulation to get 30FPS locked games into actually being playable, and 60FPS games to comfortable 120FPS, but the artifacts are very obvious most of the time. Some built-in framegen in games works better, to the point I can barely notice anything (the first descendant). But the input lag is deadly in all of them.
I will use this person as a prime example.
Everyone has their own experiences and tolerances. The problem is when people disregard this fact to reinforce their own narrative.
We should all be pushing for things to be better for everyone; not just ourselves.
On topic of LS: it has really no downsides for me @1080p and use it for like 99% of the games i play, even for competetive shooters to get stable 174fps @180hz freesync screen. Glitches on UI can be tricky sometimes but really depends on the game and LS settings. Most times im also NOT using upscaling, just the frame generation.

not sure if it comes across in that crippled video, but thats Skyrim locked to 38fps and with help of LS x3 to stable 114fps and it works really really well without major issues and annoying visual glitches. Which is really surprising

Bf2042 locked to 87fps > x2 to stable 174
This is just a common theme nowadays. All the new stuff NVidia releases, ray-tracing, etc blah blah is ALL just an excuse for game devs to not optimize their games thinking player rig "can handle it anyway". Its a really, really sad direction we are heading into.
And people who have spent tons of money to their personal nuclear reactors, just dont understand that its not about your hardware.
