Dune: Awakening
13th and 14 Gen Intel Processors
What are you going to do to ensure that people with the latest processors are going to be able to play this Unreal 5 game? Avowed is nothing but a disaster in unreal 5, people bought the game under the presumption they would be able to play it on their 13/14th Gen Intel Processors, but here is the thing, they can't. They added a shader setup before you could even get into the game. This shader constantly crashes on these processors. Are you also going to use a shader setup like Avowed has and if so what are you doing to ensure those who have these processors are able to play your game without any problems? I bought Avowed and Obsidian have ignored everyone and done nothing to patch their game so those with the 13/14th Gen processors are able to play what they bought. It's bad enough people got screwed over by Obsidian by buying early access, I have absolutely no wish to buy a game I and not even going to be able to play, this is why I am concerned and wondering what your going to do to ensure we can play your game?

The benchmark works fine on my i7-14700KF, no crashes or anything but I have the microcode Intel released for the bios or whatever.

The issue is broken CPUs. make sure you have applied latest BIOS updates. And if you still have issues, try downclock.
I have this latest Bios update Intel microcode 0x12B but it does not let me play avowed, it constantly gets stuck in the shader setup, but my amd laptop a ryzen 7940 and RTC 4070 had no problems at all playing it, but it heats up a lot, even if it is a asus TUF gaming laptop.
The downlock program I have never heard of and I wouldn't know how to even use it for the correct settings?
Avowed is just fine on my 13700k.. I haven't updated my bios for the microcode fix, but I have my volt at a static 1.2, with an offset of . 055. If you're on latest bios and are crashing during complication then your CPU might be the problem. Set a power limit and try it again.

*Edit* but yes, they have shader compilation, and it runs just fine on mine.

vast majority of people are crashing on the stupid shader setup, still can't believe they used that thing. The irony is that Hogwarts legacy is run on unreal engine and I have no problem with it.
No issues here. Demo runs perfectly fine as does Avowed. Dunno what you're chattin' tbh.

i9 14900K. Overclocked to 5904MHz on the P-Cores and 4300MHz on the E-Cores. Liquid cooled. (Note: I was not panicked into any microcode or any other BIOS updates)

GeForce RTX 4090. Liquid Cooled.

64Gb Corsair RAM

Samsung SSD 870 EVO 4Tb

Windows 11, version 24H2

Running the benchmark at 7860x2160 Ultrawide resolution with all setting maxed except motion blur off. Average fps 92.2 Max fps 138.5 Minimum fps 69.8

DLSS set to Quality.

Demo DLSS version upgraded by me from 3.5.10.0 to 310.2.1.0 using "DLSS Swapper"

Edit: Typos

just go to the obsidian forums, and there are plenty of other places. It's a recognised fact by intel and epic that these processors have problems with unreal 5.It should be epic fixing the issues. Just because your system is working fine with unreal 5 doesn't mean automatically everyone else's is. I have my offset at 53 and volt at 1.200. I will download this demo when I can. It's only avowed I can't get passed the shader, I too have and rtx4090 liquid cooled. every other game runs on epic or ultra without issues.

Why should EPIC fix faulty CPUs? The issue expands way beyond UE5. It just happens mostly in UE5.

If anything you should RMA your CPU with Intel as it may have degraded beyond the voltage fix.

as a gamer it doesn't for me, it's just avowed so far which is the problem. I have sent a request to intel for help to try and fix this problem, they are apparently aware of the problem for some reason, and are offering support to attempt to fix the problem.
I got a 14900 - no crashes here.

you have probably got the new version they have started issuing. Apparently they are replacing processors without this wrong microcode under an extended warranty, directly and or through a pc manufacturer depending where you got it. I thought the bios update 12B is supposed to fix the voltage issue.
Shintai (Αποκλεισμένος) 24 Φεβ, 5:53
It fixed it for some, I know a few that still got the issue. Likely because the CPUs already degraded. The voltage spikes simply damaged them.
CORSAIR 4000D
ASUS ROG STRIX Z790 GAMING
i9 13900k (CORSAIR AIO)
NVIDIA 4080 FOUNDERS EDITION
CORSAIR DOMINATOR DDR5 5600 64G
SAMSUNG 990PRO NVME M.2
ASUS 850 ROG GOLD

i have had my 13900k since release and have never experienced these issues, dune benchmark runs very smooth.
I just made a character and did a benchmark all on ultra everything maxed and it worked fine. Seems I don't have to worry about buying it now :)
so glad I am still rocking the 10th gen
