Like, what kind of discussion do you want to have here? You know you will get the opposite opinions, but are you open to hearing and accepting them or are you just here to take a piss?
Did you genuinely just compare this game to minecraft?
Minecraft is a different beast that you clearly do not understand whatsoever, if you think this is in the same universe in terms of comparison.
Minecraft is so good because it does everything it aims to do almost perfectly. It is a representation of doing the things that matter in respect to the games premise and focus in a perfect manner. Minecraft is first and foremost a creative sandbox with survival elements, and a depthy crafting system.
Minecraft developers know their target audience and have somewhat perfected their design and the general quality of their updates in a way the directly resonates with its audience.
The culmination of all the important facets that make minecraft are what make it so good and popular. Not one single mechanic or system.
This game barely does the things it focuses on, in a passable state never mind good.
This straight up made me laugh.
Minecraft is not even mid, its bad.
The combat is jank, the animations are terrible, the UI is hideous, the game play is generic, the crafting is unintuitive, and the graphics... are total dog water.
The ONLY thing that made minecraft great was it was the first unlimited sandbox that broke open the market.
Objectively, as a game... it was middling if you want to be generous and not good if you want to be objective.
The people and the community that the sandbox attracted made that franchise, the quality of the game itself had little to do with it.
Exactly what I meant. I merely meant to point out that one game can get away with stuff like that but if it's not Minecraft, nooo, everyone complains about everything.
What you are doing though, is what-a-bout-ism. This game can be terrible because that game is.
What if....the new game tried to be better and we work from a place of high expectations and quality and not start with the standard bar on the floor.
I had no intentions to buy the game before beta but now I feel quite interesting. Once they'll show open world co-op quests or guild PvP extraction raids or 50% discount - I'll buy it immediately
