There are dungeons called Geo-stations that were involved with the abandoned terraforming activities on the planet and are full of vegetation.
Also, please note: Geo-Stations AKA Eco-Labs are PvE-only and can be enjoyed solo or with up to 4 players. You’ll also find an instanced story mode woven into the game, adding around 80–100 hours of gameplay to complete.
Most games make the trees blue instead of green and that seems to keep their players happy- so maybe gameplay will have to be the focus here rather than colored trees.
But there are certain areas where there are different biomes. The great crevasse is one. It has no sand worms in it and we haven't seen all that is in it so it may contain free water and biomes.
Also, one of the DLC's is rumored to be at one of the poles of the planet with frozen ice terrain.
So just with the minor things we know about, Arrakis is not quite pure desert. We just have to wait to see what else we can find to explore.
The game will be mostly about environment with a lot of sand in it. Who could've seen that coming.
Mind you, deserts can be really beautiful, its not just the sand, also rocks with fancy shapes. I'm not even being sarcastic, wind is amazing sculptor.
mostly most players nows arrakis based on the films so for all people arrakis its a "desert" , but when you read both the books from f. herbert and his son , we discovers what is arrakis the past and the futur , arrakis can't be just to resume based of the first book , dunes part 1 and dunes part 2 ( and even on those 2 first books we learn arrakis its more complex as a simple " desert " planet :)
i hope dev , studio build the lore based on the books on not some sort of gimmick of what we can see on surface on the the previous recent film .
I love DUNE, just do not see myself enjoying a survival mmo in this setting.
