House shields (think atreides palace in arakeen) are massive structural shields that can withstand bombardment as well as storms.
The worm will very much eat your house if you build it on sand - it doesn care about the shield - hence you build on solid ground
House Shields would most certainly fall to a storm and would attract every Worm in hundreds of miles...
Mhm trueish - highly gamified id say in dune awakening.
again if on rock base is safe cause worm cant get there.
normal storms dont break shields in the game, the weekly coriolis storm however will - but that one only destroys deep desert structures - cause hagga basin is within the shield wall and as such is safe as you pointed out.
- Guy that misspells the planet's name, and forgets they build on solid rock.
Hey, you can give me points all you want, sport. It's still not spelt with a U.
A sandstorm does not affect a shield’s performance, and sandworms are not attracted to shields specifically; rather, they are drawn to the rhythmic vibrations of people and machines. The concept of shields driving sandworms into a frenzy was added in the latest movie.
But I wouldn't really worry about it, as they simply needed to include a gameplay mechanic that fits within the canon.
From the book:
"The mewling sound was louder here. It came from ahead and down the side passage to the central room where they had installed the main shield generator for the house." ...
"Yueh stood in the open door of the generator room. His face reflected yellow from the light of a single, brighter suspensor above the door. There was stillness from the room behind him – no sound of generators.
Yueh! Leto thought. He’s sabotaged the house generators! We ‘re wide open!"
Bases are for offworlders anyway - live in the open desert friend!
The Fremin (Sorry if THAT is misspelled) line their "Bases" with deep sand ( I am not going to attempt to spell their homes)
That wasn't misspelled it was a Typo; if you look at a keyboard, the "U" and the "I" are right next to each other.
I seriously cannot believe that was your take away though.
