Also helps that a large portion of players will be starting 5 days ahead of the open release, further scaling the time they have to deal with issues.
I remember one time that an update to Eve Online would overwrite windows system files and would make your computer not able to boot to windows after you restarted.
We live in a big and wild world full of weird stuff. Hope for the best, expect the weird stuff.
But then again, it is Unreal Engine 5 with very CPU-heavy features in vast open instances. I think a lot of people will be struggling with desync & framerate issues.
The only thing we've learned from history is that we do not learn from history.
Tech issues can happen at any time. Acting like a launch should always be flawless isn't being realistic. FC can prep for everything, test everything, etc, etc - and still, ♥♥♥♥ can (and often does) happen.
