It's the greatest game ever, you should buy it. (0.10cents has been deposited in your account by funcom)

You can watch gameplay on youtube and twitch and see if you like it.

It's usually best to make your own decision. With so many videos you can get a pretty good idea. I think more people feel positively towards than negatively, if that helps? If you have friends ask if they like it. In the end, if the vids look good, give it a roll and refund if you don't like it (although 2 hours of gameplay wouldn't give you much of this game).

From a personal viewpoint, I was 100% YES about the game more than a year ago. That lasted for less than a day once I saw 'open PvP' so I un-wishlisted and blocked the game. A month or so back I decided to check it out again just to kill some free time and was surprised, even pleasantly so. After a few days, I liked what I saw and a few days later bought the game. Two copies even. So give it a look-see on YouTube and take it from there.

Dune Awakening has generally made a good impression among content creators. Some reputable and trusted Youtubers that i watched have praised the game, acknowledging its flaws while highlighting its strengths. Their positive impression is what made me to purchase the game. You can check out channels like Demone Kim, Force Gaming, and Skill Up.

Wait and watch the live streams and recorded videos during the head start to see if it interests you. This gives you a little time, knowing that when they do the official release 5 days later, you can start on a fresh server, as those who had a head start will be on their own servers.

I think the game looks interesting so i have bought the early start copy. I used to pvp a lot, but more older and relaxed, so im going to be mostly doing Solo Scavenging runs into that huge pvp area and kill off stragglers :steammocking:

Other than that build a base, do all crafting and gearing up.
Maybe ill join a small guild to do 4 man dungeons in the pvp area, but trying out solo first.

To answer your question:

Funcom has said they will be supporting the game a minimum of 10 years with regular updates.
At worst ill get a couple hundred hours out of it, at best ill get several thousand.
And it looks more promising than any other game coming out IMO.
