-Base building was OK
-Story was good
-The vehicles were good
-Not too many bugs
-Seems TOO easy to get resources, but I guess that's needed when you can lose all to the sandworms.
-Combat......needs a lot of improvement, mostly the NPC AI
-All POI were cut and pasted (they were all the same, they need to add more random to that, cause you knew exactly how many NPC and what loot you were getting before even entering a POI if you did one of those types already) (only about 6 different types)
-PVP...was just stun lock the other player until they are dead but I read dev are already working on that.
But not a bad 'early access game', but they say its a full launch in a few weeks...but it feels like early access. So much needs more polish but good bones.
The combat animations need some work, to improve the gameplay. But overall the combat is supreme compared to any other game in the same genre.
After 35 min I had to turn it off because a sudden Thunderstorm came rolling by.
I find it ironic that I kept waiting for an email for that Beta-invite, and I never got one, and I just happenstanced across the beta test solely because I was curious if there's been any update
Well aside from my computer probably being on the lower end with graphics which was annoying, I enjoyed the little I got to try. But it was not enough to form a solid opinion. Having already made my character before in the Character Creator benchmark, it still took me 5 solid minutes to find "Import" which was right infront of me @_@ I do like the character creator though. I'm very satisfied with my character looks. Though baffling how Black hair isn't an option, hah!

Combat is JANKtastic... Maybe this gets better with more level ups and better weapons (Likely does) Will be interesting to see how this pans out for PvP.
Looks nice and managed to get a stable 60FPS on an old Nvidia 3090Ti @Native resolution (3840x1080 32:9 super ultra wide, Basically 2k)
Sand worm got me once and I leaned to walk with out rythm = Worms not an issue
Maps seems pretty big and have lots to explore even in the desert :D
Building seemed to be ok but could do with more structures (will likely have more in the full game but this is just a guess)
In the beta it was pretty quick to grind the resources and get going pretty quick (I hope this is the way it stays)
It is just another copy paste generic survival game with Dune all over it.
I don't think It is the genre defining game that Funcom advertise it as being
I am a little salty over the price tag for what seems like a mid game
Was fun to play = YES I had a good time
Will I keep my deluxe edition pre order = I think so yes.
I played with
AMD 3900x
Nvidia 3090Ti
32GB 3600Mhz DDR 4
NVME = Samsung 970pro
monitor = Samsung CHG90 3840x1080
The gameplay (movement, fighting, enemies, abilities, overall feel, ...) is very decent, but feels like it needs some work at certain parts, mostly the melee combat.
Progression also feels pretty fast with solid content to support it and the class system is pretty well done too. (I just didn't like the trainers personally)
The world itself is probably the biggest strenght, it's beautiful and has some cool mechanics. You can also get virtually anywhere you see, because of the climbing and some tech.
Raising your base upon the world is also very good and you get tons of options for your builds.
Story is there and like... it's there :D Very neutral experience, at least for the part of the story I could play.
But the performance was really bad for me, even tho I'm running a decent rig, I've heard some people having troubles with AMD, even the higher tier so yea. Fingers crossed that's gonna get fixed.
Overally very solid experience that is very rough around the edges and deffo needs more work than a month before it releases.
But yea, I liked it when it worked, so I remain hopeful
Lots of people shearing experiences and reporting issues.
Was a good place to stop for a read and see what others were thinking both negative and good. for the most part people seemed to be sharing legit information with very minimal trolling and hating (this is amazing in these forums today, just about never happens)
Graphics :
They are incredible. The colors, the light effect management, the sandstorm... Everything is really beautiful. You're really in for incredible sceneries.
Building :
Here you can see the conan exiles's trace, but they improved it and made it really really nice. You can build really nice buildings with it, being really creative. You're not lacking space whatsoever, and you have a lot of different building pieces (In the beta, I assume there may be more afterwards).
Ressources gathering :
It is really nice. Many survival games have tedious gathering mechanics (conan exiles had in example), and you had to grind so much to have a little feel of progression.
Here, you quickly gain ressources, enough to actually progress, without having to spend hours doing so.
Plus the laser stuff to gather granit / metal / copper and other is a nice idea.
The fact that you aswelll have to go to specific places to find specific components is actually nice.
Exploration :
The exploration is enticing. You've got a lot to gain to explore, may those be research points, find rare crafting plans or find a nice place to build your home.
Fighting - Melee :
It's special, but it felt nice. I mean, youv'e got a lot of different skills and have to chose between 3 (2 during the beta), which forces you to makes choice on what you should have, depending on what type of fighting gameplay you aim for, which is really great. People may come fighting with really different sets of skills.
Fighting - Guns :
Guns are fun. It's not something hardocre, it's really arcade, but it feels really fun and in place with the melee.
Skills :
Skills are really really good. Each one bring something noticeable and different and give you something really specific. Like the hook to let you climb faster or to use on enemies to stagger them. You've got the "charge" like that, that is like a gape closer, and many others.
Plus another really good point, despite the fact you have to chose a "class" when creating your character, you're not bound to it. You can unlock the others with quests, which makes your gameplay potential "unlimited" so to speak.
Progression :
It's really good and you really feels the progression. At first, you struggle for your basic water needs, and to gather granit.
Then, you'll find a way to gather water more or less consistently, and then, you'll be drawning under a hudge mass of water, which brings your attention elsewhere (finding outposts to find other ressources, searching spice, pvp to gather special ressources, searching for rare plans etc).
And as said, you really feel the progression of your character at each steps. It's not a "you won a level.. YEY, now you can do it again, you've got more stamina, agi, str, but enemies are stronger aswell" like we see in many mmos or "rpgs". Here, the stakes grow bigger, as the rewards grow bigger aswell.
Sandworm :
Hudge, Threat, Apex.
It is really good we can't do anything about them.
The "only" bad point I may find is that the bases may feel really empty if we can't "populate them" with npcs, even if it's more or less cosmetic.
TLDR : The beta shown a really good potential for the game and let me thirsty for more. Really good game.
Im looking forward to launch.
